Acknowledging your child's feelings is the first step in teaching them to navigate big emotions and co-regulate - and also to facilitate the connection between you.
Children can be overwhelmed by emotions, but being able to identify and express them can be really helpful!
Use this chart to expand you and your child's emotional vocabulary to help them navigate those BIG moments.
By doing that, you communicate empathy and give the child words they don't yet have.
Part of managing our feelings lies in the ability to name them!
You can create a collection of feeling cards or plan a fun activity to help them identify these emotions.
